Mother's Day Mets Event

This past weekend, we participated in a fundraising event at Citi Field. Mets broadcasters Keith Hernandez, Gary Cohen and Ron Darling are the founders of Pitch in for a Good Cause, a non profit organization combating hunger and homelessness. This Mother’s Day, proceeds went to the Nourishing Kitchen. We made 16 dozen cupcakes and flavors included vanilla with nutella buttercream, red velvet with cream cheese frosting and chocolate with vanilla buttercream.

Here’s a shot of the cupcakes before they went out:

Our inspiring friend Dori at dorishinyblog.com is going to be running the NYC half Marathon on March 21st. She’s running with breast cancer charity Think Pink Rocks and needs to raise $1,000 to be eligible to run with them.
To reach her goal Dori will be holding an auction on her blog on January 21st at 10 am. Pastry Girl Cakes will be donating pastries to the auction that will include goodies from other vendors as well. Check out her blog and donation page to learn more.
